Snow In Alabama
So we got snow in Alabama, before March. What is this world coming to. This picture shows you just how ready for winter we were. The snow suprised us a bit. I am really late in posting this because the snow actually fell the first of the month. And it's been cuddle dud weather ever since. It's really funny because our kids just don't have snow wear. They really don't sell it down here. This year I have a feeling we might need it though.

This is Grant's football video. He wanted to get in on the action too! When he was younger he was really good at playing pretend sports. He would imitate the athletes of whatever sport he happened to see and play with imaginary bat or whatever was required. This video is no indication of his actual coordination or skill. :)
Football Fan!
So we were watching football on Saturday. Micah disappeared and came back with this "helmet" on.
This is Micah showing off his football skills. Roll Eagle, War Tide! (Our children are a little confused about who they should pull for. Mommy is a tried and true Alabama fan and Daddy is Auburn all the way. We just roll with it here!)

I dropped it!
So after the fridge incident... I dropped my iphone. Yep. You got it. Dropped it. Not the first time. It's in a protective case. Do you think that mattered. Nope. Shattered. Yeah the glass. So I haven't used my phone much this week. Keep telling my self an iphone is not that great. I really don't want to spend the money to replace the glass because that will come out of my new camera fund. Which is hard to build when you are a stay at home mom. ;) But then today we go hiking and use Daniels phone to follow the trails and then use the GPS feature to go off the trail and right back down the mountain into our very own backyard. So maybe they are that cool and I do want mine back. Hmmmm. Thoughts to ponder.

Long time no post
So we have been just a little busy since we got back. We got home knowing our dogs got out while we were gone. We checked the animal control center they were not there (unlike last time) . We were relieved and hoped they would be in our neighborhood. They were stuck behind our house and we put them in the pen and went on our way. Later an unknown neighbor shows up in our driveway telling us that those dogs got out and caused trouble in the neighborhood and that if they got out again we wouldn't need a dog pen. So they are locked up in a kennel and we are looking for new homes for my dogs. I'm pretty upset about this. They did cause a lot of grief, but they are still my dogs. The one just defies gravity and common sense and will not be contained.
So that has been last week. Today our fridge went out so I was transferring our still frozen items to the deep freeze and throwing out a whole lot of other stuff. What fun! So I still intend to post about our trip. Just like I plan to be in bed every night by 9 so we can recover. It may just take awhile for that to happen. Time to set up a sandbag barrier for the great defrost. (The repair man said to leave it open so the huge block of ice on the back would melt and then it would work at least until the part would come in. Lets hope so.) BTW what do you feed your children besides peanut butter sandwiches when you have nothing but pantry goods and deep frozen veggies. Just pondering what our nutrition this week will look like. At the moment Daniel is trying to defrost it manually. Hehe with a hair dryer. Life is good!

I need you Jesus!!
I need You Jesus to come to my rescue Where else can I go? There's no other Name by which I am saved Capture me with grace I will follow You
This has been going through my head multiple times this week since hearing it Sunday in church. If I got nothing else out of the service I have clung to that song as a prayer for my week. It has been so exhausting. The song is Rescue by Newsong I think. :)Tuesday, August 4, 2009
Meal Time Messies
Well I just had to collage this because we have so many pictures of Micah making a mess at table. If you look carefully you will see ones of the boys side by side at the table. That is one of my scenes to see in out house. I love when the boys are side by side doing the same things. Oh and the ones with Micah holding up his fists is another favorite. We asked if he was all done and instead of signing it he just started waving these fists around and being so goofy.

Micah's new noise/talking
I hope this works. This is Micah's newest babbling phrase. He comunicates so well without talking that I'm not sure when he will actually feel the need to do more that this. He hums all the time. He sings a lot too. It's pretty funny. When he wants something like a drink he goes and gets a cup from the cabinet. (Always a new one.) Then he takes your hand and leads you to the fridge. Hope you all enjoy seeing our littlest man. I will try to post one of Grant soon too.

recent beach pictures
Sorry for the silence. I hope to post more soon. This is where we have been the past week. It was a most gracious invitation from some of our dear friends. We had a wonderful time. I will write more later.

Mother's Day
Well I got a couple of really nice and unexpected gifts for mothers day. My Dad made some picture frames using shells that Micah and
Grant had collected while we were at the beach. That was really wonderful. Dad and Daniel also took out the wood burning stove and put down laminate. That gave us an amazing addition of space to our little den. The remodel just happened sort of spur of the moment. It was really fun watching that. The boys love the extra space. Thanks guys!

Here is my Dad with the boys. The rest of us were a little camera shy or the ones taking the photos. Thanks for the wonderful trip. It was really fun seeing my kids at the same place we have been staying at since I was three. They even built back the little bath tub pool. ;) But hey, when you're young it seems huge!

My new flower bed
So I was given a few flowers and decided I wanted to make a new flower bed before Micah's birthday. I enlisted my Dad's help is designing the bed and suggesting some flowers. This is the result. For several evenings in a row Dad would drop by with a new plant or two. A load of rocks. Some mulch. Isn't it beautiful. My iris are finally thriving. This is the second year in a row that they bloomed. Some are so full of blooms they are falling on the ground (now they are gracing my table). So thanks to Dad, and to the others that have donated plants. Thanks Daniel for some serious manual labor.

Micah's Pics
Ok so here are the ones of Micah. I apologize for being absolutely addicted to the collage. They are seriously time saving. I also wish I could scrapbook this way. So many memories in one spot. Here's to the scrapbook page that looks like a quilt. ;)
learning curve
Here are a couple pictures of Grant from our neighborhood photo shoot. Our wonderful neighbors who I have known my whole life let us take pictures at their cabin. Grant thinks the world of them and we do too. So please keep in mind I am still learning. I don't really trust my judgement so feel free to comment on what you like or don't like. I'm open to suggestions.
THANKS
I keep forgetting to tell you all that my terrific friend Tiffinie took the pictures of Micah's birthday. That's how I got to be in them. Isn't she wonderful.

the perfect picture
Trying to get the perfect picture or at least one that somewhat matches the one in my head. This is what it means to my children when mommy is trying to learn more about photography. Here are some of the out-takes of our photo shoot today. As you can see we loaded up our heritage chair and headed down the road. Only a few neighbors stopped to ask why we were rolling our belongings down the street. My wonderful hubby helped as you can see. What treasures my family are. So if you look close you can see that Micah spent most of the time trying to get away. Grant on the other hand only had a few funnies.
Side note about chair.
I call it our heritage chair because it was lovingly recovered by Great Grandma Craft, Great Aunt Cheryl, Great Grandpa Craft and a little even by Me.

Bean's Birthday
Pooh Sticks

Well we have had a lot of rain lately and there are some creeks by our house. The best one is about 3/4 of a mile from us, down the most beautiful fenced lane. So me and the boys have started checking the creeks to see if they are rushing. One of Grant's (and mine) favorite books is a Winne the Pooh book where they play pooh sticks, so that is what we do now. The are some pictures of him and the beautiful creek where we played. Micah just had to watch from the stroller.
